We issued a press release today to announce that we’ve added over 50 new enhancements to Newton this week. All the new features in the latest release are designed to bolster adoption, further automate tasks, and promote consistency and process improvement. We’re told that this marks the largest release from any mid-market applicant tracking vendor so far this year. We’re also hearing from the analyst community that we have a far more aggressive release schedule than anyone in the HR technology industry. Our product team is aiming to release new enhancements to Newton about every 5 weeks.
It’s great to have new features in Newton and so far, the feedback from some of our nearly 100 customers has been extremely positive. But, the coolest part of this release is that over 60% of the enhancements were generated by our users. That is, we listened to the people that use Newton the most and want to improve the user experience for everyone.
We’re fired up to announce that we won the most substantive segment of the first annual HRtechnology(R) Ironman Competition hosted HR systems integrator, HRchitect. Four vendors including, Newton Software faced off against one another in a competition judged by panelists that preregistered for the event in order to learn more about mid-market applicant tracking software.
The event was comprised of 4 categories during which vendors were asked to showcase their advantages over the competition. We won the coveted “biking” segment which called on the vendors to feature technology, functionality, and usability. The event was a good opportunity for prospective ATS buyers to learn more about the strengths of all the vendors. And, this was a huge morale booster for us as we edged out companies that have been in the applicant tracking industry for 10+ years.
In effort to build awareness for our upcoming NED podcast showcasing the implications of social recruiting on equal opportunity employment, our partner Minimax Consulting put together this short presentation.
Social media is changing the recruiting landscape. And while people are racing to figure out how to harness the power of social recruiting (and even define it), issues related to discrimination and equal opportunity employment are imminent. As you can imagine there’s information available on social networking sites that violates anti-discrimination laws. And, recruiting exclusively with social media can potentially lead to disparate impact. What does this mean? It means that it’s time to better understand the impacts of social media and the implications that it has on recruiting – and your recruiting program.
During this special episode of NED we’ll discuss recruiting via social media and the potential for disparate claims impact claims with Dr. Stephanie Thomas, the Director of the Equal Employment Advisory and Litigation Support Division of Minimax Consulting.

Release the hounds! Ok, that may be a little dramatic. We have one of our biggest releases ever scheduled for June 10th. There are 6 major new features being added to Newton such as:
Newton Email assistant
Online Employment Applications
New Newton Online Knowledge / Support Center
In addition to the new features, there are over 20 enhancements in this release. Many of the enhancements (over 60%) are requests we’ve received from our customers. Finally, we’re not done here. We’re going to turn around and do another special release by the end of June before we ship Newton 4.0 in July. It’s going to be a busy summer.
