Given our growth and commitment to providing a stable, fast and ever-usable product, we are informing our user community that on Sunday morning for about 90 minutes we are going to be enhancing and improving Newton’s Infrastructure. Our technical team and cloud administrator are doubling Newton’s database size, implementing advanced load balancing technology and tuning a couple of other things to improve Newton’s performance in the Cloud.

Whenever we design new features for Newton, our leading mid-market  applicant tracking software, we always keep in mind that knowledge is power. We understand that a variety of people involved in the recruiting process come to Newton for answers so transparency and visibility are key. People who use Newton liken the home page to air traffic control for recruiting. It’s an  instant staffing report online.

Well, we just made Newton’s home page more powerful by adding enhancements that provide even better visibility. Based on feedback from our user community and some ideas of our own, we’ve made some enhancements.  In our most recent release, we give our users the power of viewing more information about jobs on the home page. And, you can now arrange jobs in a variety of different ways to meet you needs.
Starting next week, you can arrange jobs by:
  • Location
  • Job ID
  • Department
  • Date activated (oldest to newest)
  • You  can choose how many jobs you want to display on your home page.
  • You can sort jobs alphabetically or sort them by oldest to newest.
  • And, you can even filter jobs on your home page by location or department.

Indeed Adds Free Resume Search Service

Posted: September 19th, 2011 | Author: darothschild | Filed under: Applicant Tracking, Cool Companies, Internet Trends, Partners, Recruiting Industry, applicant tracking software | No Comments »

Indeed finally unveiled its resume search service officially taking them from the world’s largest search engine for jobs to a more conventional employment site. We say bring it on. Indeed has always done a good job at keeping their tools easy-to-use and with the added functionality, we’re glad someone is giving the traditional sites (Monster, CareerBuilder) a run for their money.  With that in mind, the resume search service on Indeed.com is free (for now).

The resume search is a straightforward search tool, identical to the site’s job search. Searches can be easily narrowed by simply selecting from a menu that appears with search results. We think one of the coolest features is the ability to roll over a job seekers name to reveal a preview of the resume without a click.  Nice design.

Job seekers will appreciate the simplicity of the system. It accepts all forms of resumes and will import a user’s LinkedIn profile. Users can elect to keep the resume private and not findable in a search, or make it public. In the latter case, the contact information is stripped out. Employers use a form to contact the job seeker, who decides whether or not to respond. Job seekers can also apply to jobs they find on Indeed with their resume.

As with any candidate profile, Newton users can simply cut and paste a profile of the applicant into the system and use the parsing engine to add a candidate to their applicant tracking software.

Advanced Interview Tracking: Air Traffic Control for Corporate Recruiting

Posted: March 11th, 2011 | Author: jpassen | Filed under: Applicant Tracking, Company News, Dashboards, Interviews, RPO Software, Recruiting Industry, applicant tracking software | No Comments »

One of the qualities that we’re most proud of is Newton’s ability to clear the ‘fog of war’ that often envelopes corporate recruiting programs. At the end of the day, the most important benefit that applicant tracking software can provide is visibility. Recruiting is a ‘busy’ business process that creates a massive amount of information. Organizing and managing this information into easy to access, easy to read dashboards is paramount.

We’ve designed Newton’s home page to be ‘air traffic control’ for corporate hiring. See all of the jobs that are important to you at a glance and all of your applicants in the pipelines for those jobs organized by what stage of the process they are in. Newton’s home page creates an automatic staffing report just by logging in and doesn’t require any clicking around. Now, turn on Newton’s enhanced interview tracking feature and get detailed, real-time visibility into each candidates’ interview stage like 1st phone screens, 2nd interviews and even rescheduled interviews automatically. You’ll track the number of phone screens, the number interviews and even reschedules for each candidate right from your home page.

Using Newton’s enhanced interview tracking feature will allow your recruiting team to gather more meaningful and powerful recruiting metrics with very little impact on your hiring managers. Coupled with Newton’s state of the art custom reporting engine, Newton’s interview tracking capabilities empower organizations to continuously improve recruiting efficiency and overall effectiveness.
