Whenever we design new features for Newton, our leading mid-market  applicant tracking software, we always keep in mind that knowledge is power. We understand that a variety of people involved in the recruiting process come to Newton for answers so transparency and visibility are key. People who use Newton liken the home page to air traffic control for recruiting. It’s an  instant staffing report online.

Well, we just made Newton’s home page more powerful by adding enhancements that provide even better visibility. Based on feedback from our user community and some ideas of our own, we’ve made some enhancements.  In our most recent release, we give our users the power of viewing more information about jobs on the home page. And, you can now arrange jobs in a variety of different ways to meet you needs.
Starting next week, you can arrange jobs by:
  • Location
  • Job ID
  • Department
  • Date activated (oldest to newest)
  • You  can choose how many jobs you want to display on your home page.
  • You can sort jobs alphabetically or sort them by oldest to newest.
  • And, you can even filter jobs on your home page by location or department.

Advanced Interview Tracking: Air Traffic Control for Corporate Recruiting

Posted: March 11th, 2011 | Author: jpassen | Filed under: Applicant Tracking, Company News, Dashboards, Interviews, RPO Software, Recruiting Industry, applicant tracking software | No Comments »

One of the qualities that we’re most proud of is Newton’s ability to clear the ‘fog of war’ that often envelopes corporate recruiting programs. At the end of the day, the most important benefit that applicant tracking software can provide is visibility. Recruiting is a ‘busy’ business process that creates a massive amount of information. Organizing and managing this information into easy to access, easy to read dashboards is paramount.

We’ve designed Newton’s home page to be ‘air traffic control’ for corporate hiring. See all of the jobs that are important to you at a glance and all of your applicants in the pipelines for those jobs organized by what stage of the process they are in. Newton’s home page creates an automatic staffing report just by logging in and doesn’t require any clicking around. Now, turn on Newton’s enhanced interview tracking feature and get detailed, real-time visibility into each candidates’ interview stage like 1st phone screens, 2nd interviews and even rescheduled interviews automatically. You’ll track the number of phone screens, the number interviews and even reschedules for each candidate right from your home page.

Using Newton’s enhanced interview tracking feature will allow your recruiting team to gather more meaningful and powerful recruiting metrics with very little impact on your hiring managers. Coupled with Newton’s state of the art custom reporting engine, Newton’s interview tracking capabilities empower organizations to continuously improve recruiting efficiency and overall effectiveness.

Coming Soon…. a sneak peak of the September applicant tracking software release

You made suggestions. We listened.

We’re super excited about our upcoming release due out September 10th. Over half of the new features are customer recommendations.  Last month, we did a large performance release to ensure that Newton has the capacity and speed to keep up with our growing customer base (we’re serious about performance).  September is all about cool new features. Our development team is working away at building and testing 10 great new additions to Newton. We’ve figured we’d give you a quick look at what’s to come.

We’ll release more details on the “Tracking” feature in a couple of days.  It will be the only feature of it’s kind in the applicant tracking software world.  In the meantime, think “Twitter feed” for your recruiting program.

Here’s a discrete preview of what’s on tap for September.

Recruiting Dashboards, More on the Way

Posted: January 15th, 2010 | Author: jpassen | Filed under: Applicant Tracking, Company News, Dashboards, Software | No Comments »

In 2004, when we started to design the first iteration of Newton, one of our core ideas was to design applicant tracking software that could easily show someone what’s happening inside of a recruiting program at a glance. We wanted Newton’s home page to be “air traffic control”, only the stuff you need, the blips, not a bunch of peripheral clutter. We also knew that this “dashboard” needed to be interactive so users could drill into the data unlike the spreadsheets that so many people still use today.

Lately, we’ve been exploring some very cool ways to expand on the progress we’ve already made. Recently, we announced an enhancement that gives our customers the ability to view and manage recruiting data for multiple divisions or business units from on central dashboard – one login. Now our customers with multiple recruiting teams can stay on top of what’s going on in various BU’s or regions simply.

Currently, we’re working on enhancing the Newton home page by surfacing more critical data for our users in our 4.0 release due out in several weeks. And, our product design team is also working on improving Newton Analytics, currently our most popular recruiting dashboard. We even have some secret things in the mix that will come to fruition in the summer, stuff no one has seen yet. More to come.
